Josh RosenCEO & Co-Founder
Josh provided seed capital to Kris Krane to form 4Front Advisors in 2011 and joined as a full-time team member in 2014 when 4Front began to explore opportunities beyond consulting. Previously, he spent 13 years as an equity analyst and portfolio manager in the financial services industry, during which time he became one of the youngest vice presidents in Credit Suisse’s history. Josh moved into private equity in 2008 because he wanted to have a more meaningful impact on companies.
Kris KranePresident & Co-Founder
Having founded 4Front Advisors in 2011, Kris now serves as president of 4Front. Prior to forming 4Front, Kris served as director of client services for CannBe, a pioneer in developing best practices within the medical cannabis industry. Kris has dedicated his career to reforming the nation’s misguided drug policies, having served as associate director of NORML from 2000 to 2005 and executive director of Students for Sensible Drug Policy from 2006 to 2009. He currently serves on the National Cannabis Industry Association board of directors and pens a column about the cannabis industry for Forbes.
Leise RosmanChief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Leise helps coordinate and manage the company’s many projects around the country. She brings to the COO role more than a decade of experience managing strategy and operations for leading public policy organizations. She joined 4Front in 2013. As an integral member of the early 4Front Advisors team, she has helped dozens of prospective medical cannabis dispensary and cultivation businesses successfully navigate state-managed competitive application processes in several states.
Andrew ThutChief Financial Officer
Andrew joined 4Front in 2014 and has immersed himself over the past three years in every facet of the medical cannabis industry, including regulatory compliance, the relevant financial drivers of the industry, and hands-on experience with dispensaries and cultivation facilities. After spending a career in finance, Andrew brings a wealth of mainstream business experience and professionalism to the emerging medical cannabis industry. Prior to his role at 4Front, Andrew was managing director of the BlackRock Small Cap Growth Fund at BlackRock Advisors LLC. During his 11-year involvement, the $2 billion fund ranked in the top five percent of all domestic small cap growth funds. He also had past stints at MFS Investment Management and BT Alex Brown.
As Controller, Clay is responsible for accounting and finance at 4Front. Clay has 20 years of experience in accounting and finance at companies ranging from Fortune 500s to startups. Prior to 4Front, Clay was Controller for a digital marketing agency startup. In addition to accounting and finance, Clay also brings experience in consulting, private equity, retail, consumer products, and real estate. Clay earned a degree in economics and business at UCLA.
Don SchaeferRetail Director
Don is responsible for the retail development and roll-out of the dispensaries that 4Front either controls or manages for partners. Don is an Army vet with multiple U.S. and overseas assignments under his belt. After leaving the military, Don applied his team-building experience to the retail and hospitality sector, where he helped best-in-class brands like Hillstone Restaurants, Starwood, and Le Pain Quotidien develop their cultures by coaching them to adopt thoughtful recruiting, hiring and training practices. As former VP of Operations for Sweetgreen, Don helped the restaurant expand from one location to 30 across the Northeast. He joined 4Front in early 2014.
Hunter HollimanProduction Director
Hunter has worked in the medical cannabis industry for more than a decade in almost every role imaginable, from cultivation and dispensary operations to grassroots advocacy and public policy. He was a member of the San Francisco Medical Cannabis Task Force before moving to Washington, D.C., to serve as Chief of Staff for Americans for Safe Access, a medical cannabis advocacy organization. During his time at ASA, Hunter was closely involved with the passage and implementation of several state-level medical cannabis programs. Hunter joined 4Front in April 2015 and is now applying his multi-faceted experiences to help launch medical cannabis dispensary operations in multiple states.
Scott ShankImplementation Director
Scott is responsible for the development of Mission’s projects on the East Coast. As an electrical engineer, Scott spent twelve years designing and managing the implementation of military base security systems in eight countries and thirteen states. The desire to put his talent and energy into a different kind of global effort, one which has the potential to heal millions and make the world a better place, drew him away from a comfortable career and toward the emerging, chaotic world of cannabis. For the last two-and-a-half years he has leveraged his engineering and project-management skills to improve existing and startup cannabis operations in Colorado, Nevada, Illinois, Massachusetts, Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Joe FelthamChief of Staff to CEO
Joe has his hands in all aspects of 4Front’s business, helping CEO Josh Rosen balance the competing needs of a rapidly growing company. He has been involved with the legal cannabis industry for more than a decade. While obtaining a degree in finance from the University of San Francisco, Joe owned and operated a successful cultivation facility and built strong ties with the Northern California cannabis business community. After graduating from USF in 2007, Joe spent three years working for a Fortune 500 financial services company and four years as a consultant for two Arizona-based healthcare companies before joining 4Front in 2014.
Whit RichardsonCommunications Director
Whit leads 4Front Ventures’ communications and marketing efforts. An award-winning business journalist, Whit first joined 4Front to help develop its publishing activities before transitioning into his current role.
Sam TracyGovernment Relations Director
Sam supports 4Front’s business development and government affairs efforts, bringing years of experience in the policy, advocacy and nonprofit worlds. He served on the Students for Sensible Drug Policy’s board of directors from March 2012 to September 2014, chairing the board for the second half of his term, and has advocated for drug policy reform on The Katie Couric Show and in The Huffington Post.
Nate NicholsProject Manager
Nate is an integral part of the 4Front team, helping manage projects and lending aid wherever is necessary. He recently graduated from Arizona State University with a major in finance and minor in real estate. He is passionate about playing an active role in the rapidly evolving cannabis industry.
