Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Associate I

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Integrated Pest Management Associate is part of the Cultivation Department providing oversight to all the plants within the facility. They are responsible for ensuring all plants do not become susceptible to pests and pathogens in the grow rooms. Priorities include partnering with the IPM Manager and Cultivation Team to ensure all facility areas are properly maintained to meet compliance standards.

AVAILABILITY
Full Shift Availability Required (i.e., Monday-Friday, 10am – 6:30pm) May be required to work holidays

COMPENSATION
$17-$19/hour (Depending on experience)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all procedures according to local and state regulations and company policies
  • Maintain operational excellence at all workstations/areas
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed
  • Assist with daily inspections for pests, pathogens, mold, fungi, disease, or other undesired conditions
  • Mix and apply spray applications on/around plants to help prevent hazardous buildups
  • Apply beneficial predator insects across all rooms to defend plants from pests
  • Scout all rooms daily pest pressures while ensuring rooms stay below thresholds
  • Ensure all grow rooms are free of pathogens that can contaminate plants
  • Fog/bomb grow rooms between harvests/room flips as well as common areas on a regular basis
  • Surface spray tables, floors, walls, etc. to ensure environment maintains optimized sanitation standards
  • Apply sticky traps to the plants on a weekly basis as a tool to detect pest pressures
  • Conduct daily maintenance and cleaning of all pest management equipment while ensuring the work areas are clean and tidy
  • Assist in other duties as assigned to ensure the team, department and company division maintain success
  • Regularly update logs pertinent to job scope

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Handle spraying equipment (push/pull machinery)
  • Hands-on, plant touching position
  • Indoor greenhouse environment with heat and humidity
  • Constant artificial, bright indoor lighting
  • Plant pollen is present on surfaces and in the air
  • Kneeling, squatting, lifting, bending, walking, pivoting, standing all expected activities
  • Protective PPE including full scrubs, respirator, and hazardous material suit are required (provided on site)

  • *NOTE: The facility contains confined spaces that may only be accessible by ascending/descending stairwells while traveling throughout the building. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Horticulture and/or Agriculture Experience, 1+ years (preferred)
  • Production/Manufacturing Experience, 1+ years (preferred)
  • Cannabis Industry Experience (preferred)
  • Basic Math, Organizational, and Computer Skills
  • Dispensing Organization Agent Identification Card (able to obtain upon hire)
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • 21+ and currently residing in the USA
  • Required to successfully complete and pass the following timed tests:
  • Applicator General Standards Exam (pass within 60 days)
  • Pesticide Application for Fruits/Vegetables (pass within 90 days)
  • *Company provides study time (during scheduled work hours), supporting/study materials and test fees
